To the Streets against Abortion in The Hague and Leiden: Satanists chant Demonic Slogans
On Monday 9 March, TFP volunteers from Stirezo Pro Life campaigned against abortion on the streets. This provoked strong backlash from pro-abortion activists.
Finally, a Pro-Life Voice at Universities
As pro-life volunteers, we are spending a week travelling through the Netherlands and Flanders. We are running street campaigns for the unborn child in city centres and on university campuses. It is particularly important at universities to raise the profile of the unborn child, in the face of the feminism that dominates among professors. Students approach our volunteers and tell us how encouraging they find it to finally hear a clear pro-life voice.
Four Young Men change their Minds
On Monday, the volunteers were in The Hague, at the local campus of Leiden University. There were many passers-by, both students and secondary school pupils. We spoke to four young men who were superficially in favour of abortion, for example in cases of rape. “Should the child then be punished for the father’s sins?” was our question. That got them thinking. They changed their minds and wished us success.

Dolle Mina’s show up
Soon enough, Dolle Mina’s turned up. This group is subsidised by the central government, always a sign of a lack of support amongst the population. These mercenaries of the abortion lobby tried to burn our pro-life leaflet, without success. Their pro-abortion noise was thwarted by a Christian passer-by who clearly sympathised with our street campaign. This Christian approached the Dolle Minas for a discussion. Attempts by our volunteers to engage the Dolle Minas in conversation came to nothing: the activists refused to debate.
Shocking chants in Leiden
In Leiden, we were stationed at the Central Station. There, we spoke to several students who were enthusiastic about our message. Older passers-by spontaneously thanked us for our pro-life witness. Here too, pro-abortion campaigners eventually turned up. Their slogans were so shocking that they inadvertently promoted our position that abortion activism is not about freedom but about death.
Death Threats against Us
Pro-abortion activists made death threats against us on two occasions. They screamed through their tears that they wanted to have an abortion immediately. One woman who engaged in a debate with us even said that she 'would have aborted our Lord Jesus Christ if she had carried Him as an unborn child'. Anyone who thinks that truly lives in unfathomable darkness.

Pro-abortionists quote Demons
What was striking was the strong Satanism of the pro-abortionists. Especially whilst praying, a strange, terrifying look came into their eyes. They chanted: “No one stands with you, except Satan.” And: “we are many”, the demons’ reply to Christ’s question “What is thy name??” in Mark 5:9. It is chilling to hear the words of demons spoken so literally.
The banner of Christian civilisation – with our principles of ‘Tradition, Family and Property’ – remains proudly aloft in the face of the abortion activists.
The Struggle against Abortion is a Religious Struggle
These demonic reactions show that the battle over abortion is a religious battle, between God and the Devil. The scenes in Leiden are reminiscent of the recent March for Life, when a priest held aloft a crucifix with a St Benedict medal (which has an exorcistic effect) in front of a group of pro-abortion counter-demonstrators. Their jeering turned into a terrifying shriek.
Pro-Abortion Satanism is Repulsive
It is foolish to seek too much logic behind evil. Yet one might wonder what pro-abortion advocates hope to achieve with their satanic slogans and bizarre behaviour. They repel normal people. These people are increasingly receptive to the reasonable argument – namely that every child has a right to life – and are also becoming more critical of abortion, as opinion polls show. With their hysterical and even violent stance, pro-abortion advocates are not gaining support.
