June, the Month of the Sacred Heart: Catholics offer Reparation in Milan

For centuries, the month of June has been dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It is the time when the Church invites the faithful to contemplate the infinite love of the Divine Heart and to make reparation for the offenses that wound Him daily. This devotion has shaped the piety of entire generations of Catholics, from the north to the south of the Italian peninsula.

Today, however, that same month is gradually being stripped of its meaning and replaced by an agenda of an entirely different nature: that of the so-called “pride” events. These are not merely protests, but the public display of conduct that the Catechism of the Catholic Church describes as “intrinsically disordered” and as “grave depravity.” From a celebration of the Heart of Christ, June risks becoming the month of “pride” in what the Faith calls sin.

Do not remain Silent

In the face of this reversal, silence is not an option. To remain silent would mean allowing the public squares to speak with one voice, and leaving the outrages against the Heart of Jesus unanswered.

It is in this spirit that the Italian TFP, together with TFP Student Action Europe, organized two public events in downtown Milan. A Catholic, peaceful, and visible response: the recitation of the Holy Rosary of Reparation and the distribution of a leaflet to passersby, to remind an entire city to whom this month truly belongs.

Not a futile gesture of protest, but an act of reparation. The very same streets that have been traversed in recent weeks by “rainbow” parades were filled with the prayers of Catholics, publicly asking for forgiveness and seeking mercy.

Milan, City of the Sacred Heart

It is no coincidence that Milan was chosen. It is the city of St. Ambrose and St. Charles Borromeo, two giants of the Faith who defended sound doctrine with courage and without compromise. Bringing the Rosary back to its squares means taking up that same legacy: the public, militant, and Marian witness of those who are not ashamed to profess Christ the King.

With the power of the Holy Rosary—the weapon that Our Lady herself has entrusted to her children—this battle, too, can be won.
