Touching Reactions to Street Campaign against the Sin of Abortion: ‘I was in Tears on the Train afterwards’

“Pray and act to put an end to the sin of abortion.” With this slogan, our volunteers travelled through the Netherlands and Flanders last week. Their street campaigns against abortion struck a chord with supporters.

“As a Woman, I approve of what you’re doing”

“You’re acting very peacefully and without violence,” a young woman writes to us on Instagram. She’s responding to a post about the aggression shown by abortion advocates towards our pro-life volunteers. “Just know that there’s a woman here who approves of what you’re doing!”

Volunteers from several European countries came together to take action with TFP Student Action Europe.

“Thank you, Gentlemen!”

“I cannot express enough appreciation for you, for fighting for this,” writes a young man. “Thank you, gentlemen! Keep it going, can I make a donation somewhere?” (Of course, we replied, here is our donation page!).

The banner of Christian civilisation – with our principles of ‘Tradition, Family and Property’ – remains proudly aloft in the face of the abortion activists.

“Wonderful and Powerful Testimony!”

Following our street campaign in Leiden, where we faced particularly fierce opposition from outspoken Satanists, a supporter wrote to us: “Wonderful and powerful testimony! Also in Leiden – where I live. Had I known, I would have come to support you with the Rosary.”

“You are putting your Lives on the Line”

A lady emailed after our street campaign in Utrecht: “First of all, I would like to express my full support for your heroic stand in defence of the unborn child. You are putting your lives on the line.”

‘You are in my Heart’

Further on in her email: “Dear people, you are in my heart and I hope that the politicians wake up and see what the Satanists are doing at such a gathering. And that you are protected by Our Lady Mary and all the saints and guardian angels around you.”

‘Braving the Crowd’

The most moving response came from a lady. “I was at the station in Utrecht yesterday where you were standing up for the unborn child, braving the crowd,” she wrote in her email. “I was there to catch the train home, returning from work.”

“I sat on the Train in Tears”

“I kept watching, and the hatred I saw in the pro-abortion group really hit me hard. Why can’t there be a non-violent counter-voice? I don’t understand any of this. Of course, I have my suspicions. But you, heroes, who endured this violence. Later, I sat on the train in tears. Thank you for your courage in standing up for unborn life.”
