Irish Pride Canceled Thanks to the Prayers of the Faithful
Combining provocation with blasphemy, Irish LGBT groups had planned the “Big Gay Hike” for Monday, June 2—a hike up Croagh Patrick, the Holy Mountain where Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, prayed and fasted for forty days. Once at the summit, the homosexuals had planned a large, transgressive open-air party.
The Irish Society for Christian Civilisation, a sister organization of the TFP, therefore organized a Rosary of Reparation in the town of Westport, a few kilometers from Croagh Patrick, on Sunday, June 1. The Rosary, recited in a public square, was intended not only as an act of reparation to the Sacred Heart—at the beginning of the month dedicated to Him—but also to ask Divine Providence not to allow such a sacrilege to take place.
“As many saints teach, public sins require public reparation. Our Lord is once again being publicly mocked, ridiculed, and scorned—just as during the Passion. Faithful Catholics must not remain passive and allow this to happen again. We must uphold the honor of Our Lord and defend His Law,” said TFP spokesperson Damien Murphy to the local newspaper.
It seems that Providence, at the request of Saint Patrick, heard the prayers of the Catholics. On Monday, June 2, a storm was forecast on the holy mountain. From a “moderate breeze” at 9 AM, it shifted to a “fresh breeze” at 10, then to a “strong breeze” at noon, culminating in a “strong gale” at 1 PM.
Alluding to a “strong winds forecast,” the LGBT groups canceled the event…
P.S. On Sunday, June 1, in Westport, it was a sunny day with a light breeze—perfect weather for a public Rosary.
