Urgent petition to the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport
On March 23, the website Thuisabortus.nl was launched in the Netherlands, where pregnant women can obtain abortion pills in digital anonymity from behind their screens.
This initiative, which appears to aim to create a bol.com for abortion in our country, goes beyond all bounds and must be stopped immediately.
Apart from the fact that abortion is inherently an evil, this practice removes the little safeguards that still remain. On this website, there is no protection against abortion under duress or pressure. There is no protection against hasty decisions to commit an abortion. There is also no guarantee that the abortion pill is only used in the first nine weeks of pregnancy.
The abortion movement is never satisfied and is venturing ever further down the slippery slope of the culture of death.
What will be the consequence of this? Could family homes, which are supposed to be places of warmth and security to welcome life, be turned into abortion clinics? And if abortion is facilitated in this way, while the dignity of human life is being eroded ever further, won't the same thing happen to euthanasia later on? In a couple of years, will one be able to order a pill via a website to take one's own life?
We demand that the website Thuisabortus.nl be taken offline immediately, to prevent the Netherlands from sliding further into a new low.

It is with deep concern that we denounce the launch of the website Thuisabortus.nl, which turns abortion into a trivial, anonymous and virtualised practice.
The rapid and impersonal process eliminates any genuine consideration for the dignity of unborn human life and undermines the minimal safeguards provided for by the legislation itself.
We therefore demand the immediate closure of the Thuisabortus.nl website, to prevent our country from continuing down an increasingly deep path of dehumanisation.
