Being ‘Pro-Choice’ Is No Longer Enough. You Must Be Anti-Pro-Life
The overturning of Roe v. Wade has highlighted the inherently anti-life nature of the “pro-choice” advocates, with abortion campaigners urging ever stronger—and more violent—retaliation against pro-lifers. With the conflict between the pro-life cause and the pro-abortion movement now so public, it appears that it is not enough to be a “pro-choicer” to join the pro-abortion ranks.
Warnings before Supreme Court Ruling
Prior to the Dobbs. v. Jackson ruling, pro-abortion advocates promised a “night of rage” in retaliation should Roe v. Wade be overturned. Yet even before this historic ruling was handed down, protestors signaled the form their reactions would take. Following the unprecedented leak of the draft opinion—a leak which has still not been publicly addressed—pro-abortion protestors descended upon the houses of Supreme Court justices.
“When abortion rights are under attack, what do we do? Rise up, fight back,” chanted a crowd outside the home of Justice Samuel Alito on May 9, most of whom were wearing face masks. The protest was led by the anti-establishment group “ShutDownDC,” which accused Justice Alito of wanting to “take away our rights.” They added chants of “abort the court” and expletive-laden slogans to their protest.
The radical pro-abortion group “Ruth Sent Us” then also published the locations of six pro-life Supreme Court justices’ home addresses on their website as a resource for pro-abortion protestors. Following this, pro-abortion protestors assembled outside the houses of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh on May 9. Such protesting appeared to violate Federal Law; 18 U.S. Code § 1507 on “picketing or parading” states that anyone with the “intent of influencing any judge … in the discharge of his duty, pickets or parades in or near… a building or residence occupied or used by such judge” shall be fined or imprisoned up to a year.
Despite this, the White House did not register concern at the attempt to influence or harm the Supreme Court justices.
In an early May show, Fox News host Tucker Carlson highlighted the uptick in violence launched not just against pro-lifers but against Catholics. Carlson suggested that the uncondemned series of events “isn’t actually about Roe” but “something much darker than that.” Alluding to the radically pro-abortion “Women’s Health Protection Act,” Carlson stated, “it’s not really about codifying Roe—abortions for people who ‘need them safe, legal and rare.’ It’s about something much bigger than that.”
Carlson observed that the pro-abortion rhetoric and movement are opposed to God at their core:
“It’s about displacing God as the great decider. Democrats now reserve the right to rewrite biology, which means dominion over nature… So again, this isn’t just about intimidating Supreme Court justices, five of them, into changing their views on Roe v. Wade. It’s about attacking Christianity because Christianity stands in their way.”
The pro-abortion advocates are “angry at Christianity” and “have been for a long time,” added Carlson. Yet such anger is “weird,” he continued, since “the Western understanding of human rights, our understanding of human rights, all of us, atheists included, is based on Christianity.”
Indeed, the radical, violent pro-abortion group “Jane’s Revenge” issued a May 31 statement highlighting this anger:
“Why is it that we are so afraid to unleash hell upon those who are destroying us? … to this, we say: no more. We need to get angry. We need the state to feel our full wrath. We need to express this madness fully and with ferocity. We need to quit containing ourselves. We need them to be afraid of us. Whatever form your fury takes, the first step is feeling it. The next step is carrying that anger out into the world and expressing it physically.”
How Far Pro-abortionists Are Willing to Go
With such rhetoric on display, the pro-abortion movement showed its true face. Individuals who half-heartedly proclaimed themselves to be “pro-choice”—perhaps in order to be accepted in a widely pro-abortion society—are no longer radical enough. The fall of Roe v. Wade showed that the pro-abortion movement is whole-heartedly committed to anger and violence in the name of abortion, and—ultimately—death through abortion.
The promised “summer of rage” and accompanying “night of rage,” by which abortion supporters vowed to retaliate against the Supreme Court’s ruling, were even supported by politicians, such as left-wing Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who took to the streets in front of the court shouting and screaming. Self-professed “Catholic” President Joe Biden has since issued two executive orders further promoting abortion in the nation.
Catholic churches and pro-life pregnancy centers have become the favorite targets of this enraged pro-abortion movement, fulfilling its promise of letting the state “feel our full wrath.” Churches and pregnancy centers were burned, shot at, sprayed with pro-abortion graffiti, vandalized and looted. Even the notoriously left-favoring Facebook declared pro-abortion “Jane’s Revenge” a terrorist group.
In another poignant move, the Satanic Temple of New York City markedly revealed its devotion to abortion and rejection of the Court’s decision, writing, “The Satanic Temple is the leading beacon of light in the battle for abortion access. With Roe v Wade overturned, a religious exemption will be the only available challenge to many restrictions to access.”
The reason for this? The Satanic Temple declared that under the “Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), first trimester abortions are now exempt from unnecessary regulations for all individuals practicing The Satanic Temple’s religious abortion ritual.” The “abortion ritual… sanctifies the abortion process by instilling confidence and protecting bodily rights when undergoing the safe and scientific procedure.” The Satanists even included a “prayer” for the ritual.
Taking a moment to pause here, one can discern the unprecedented catalyst Roe’s reversal has become. To join the pro-abortion movement, it is now no longer enough to simply profess the creed of being “pro-choice” and pay no real further attention to abortion. Instead, “pro-choicers” have been left by the wayside, as the pro-abortion side shows its true colors, taking to the streets in screaming defiance of legislators’ decisions, carrying out acts of domestic terrorism against Christians and pro-lifers, and aligning themselves with Satanists in the pursuit of blood.
Pro-abortionists realize their chosen god of sexual pleasure without the consequence of bringing forth new life is under attack. In response, they are issuing an attack that is both physical and spiritual.
Analyzing the rage expressed by the pro-abortion protestors, University of Texas Professor J. Budziszewski summarized: “For when one has done dreadful wrong, there are only two apparent ways out: One can listen to conscience, or suppress it; one can repent of one’s evil, or deny it. The most convenient way to deny the guilt of doing wrong is to project it onto others.”
Somewhat echoing this, Jonathan Turley wrote in The Hill at the end of last month:
“With the Supreme Court’s overturn of Roe v. Wade, it is no longer enough to be pro-choice. Indeed, the term ‘pro-choice’ has been declared harmful by the now ironically named ‘Pro-Choice Caucus.’ Today, it seems you must be anti-pro-life to be truly pro-choice—and, across the country, pro-life viewpoints are being declared virtual hate speech.”
With Roe v. Wade overturned, the pro-life battle is not over but simply returned to the state level. One thing is certain: The pro-abortion movement appears intent on becoming ever more radical, bloodthirsty and violent in its bloody pursuit of death.
